The Alabama Teen Challenge adult residential program is an intense, no compromise, faith-based opportunity to start life over. We understand that life hurts, however, we know that God heals! During our year long restoration program you will have more than a chance to "get clean", you will have a chance to permanently change from the inside - spiritually.

You may be asking yourself if you need a one-year program. How long have you struggled? How long has life been out of control? If your answer was "too long", then Teen Challenge may be the program for you. Are you truly willing to do what ever it takes to turn your life around? If yes, contact us today.

Teen Challenge is a faith-based program that is based upon Christian principles and practices. As such, Teen Challenge is only an appropriate option for people desiring such a program and who are willing to commit to fully participate in it. Program Philosophy:
Alabama Teen Challenge does not offer or provide clinical treatment or care for individuals who have substance-related disorders and is, therefore, not subject to regulation or oversight by the Alabama Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation through its Certification Standards. This program serves as a medium through which individuals who have substance-related disorders are free to voluntarily pursue activities to support their recovery.

Addiction is a term of convenience and common reference dealing with habitual or repeated behavior but does not serve our definition of process or underlying cause.  We do not serve addictions per se, we serve spiritual strongholds, we understand them within the context of sin, and we deal with strongholds exclusively through evangelism and discipleship as defined by Scripture – there is nothing else in our model.  We don’t do treatment, we disciple.  We don’t focus on behavior as much as we focus on identity in Christ. In short – we are an expression of the church.

None of the above statements should be construed as critical of clinical approaches, but their purpose is to accurately understand the historical evangelistic and discipleship identity of Teen Challenge that has been unequivocal for over fifty years.

It is the policy of Alabama Teen Challenge not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability in admission and access to, employment in its program or activities, as required by section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, the American with Disabilities Act, as amended (to the extent applicable to the Ministry), Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, as amended, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, as amended, and their implementing regulations.

As a religious institution, Alabama Teen Challenge is permitted and reserves the right to prefer employees or prospective employees on the basis of religion.

The world-wide mission of Teen Challenge is to evangelize people who have life-controlling problems and initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in society applying spiritually motivated Biblical principles to relationships in the family, the local church, chosen vocation, and the community. Applicants are expected to voluntarily participate in the established TC program including but not limited to prayer, Bible study, and worship.
